School Cancellation Process

School Closures

School closures are determined by recommendations or even mandates passed down to district leadership from many possible sources. Some of these include the Governors Office as was the case in the spring of this year. Other recommendations may come from information obtained from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, the MS. Department of Education and/or the US Dept. of Health and Human Services. Such important decisions are not taken lightly and are always made with the health and safety of district employees, students and surrounding communities in mind. Stone County School District will make every effort to keep the public informed. However, please understand that the COVID-19 pandemic as it relates to our schools is fluid and ever changing. We ask for your patience and understanding as we move to safely open our schools and get back to doing what we do best. SAFETY is and will continue to be our top priority. Stay tuned but more importantly STAY SAFE!
